TREND REPORT || Top 5 Trends for 2020

One of the largest apparel markets in the US took place only a couple weeks ago in Las Vegas and we had the inside scoop on what is going to be trending in 2020.

Kelly Helfman, President of WWDMAGIC, pulled pieces straight from the market floor to show us the wardrobe essentials we need to have for spring/summer of 2020.

Not only is it the tie dye trending, but also the ombre effect. The beachy tie dye takes on a whole new identity in this upcoming year. You can go for the grunge street look with a cropped crew neck, but also feel feminine & sophisticated in a silky tie dye midi dress.

80’s GLAM>>>

80’s glam is all about the power blazer, over-sized jacket, a bright suit, the strong shoulders, and of course the puffed sleeves! The fabric choices include a lot of sequence and feathers! And honestly we can’t get enough of the drama feels these pieces give us! You feel unstoppable in a silky metallic mini dress paired along with a killer heel.

Crochet isn’t going anywhere in 2020! Again the coastal vibes are strong, so it’s important to mix in some of your other favorite trends to make your look unique to you. For example, style a crochet tank over a brami or bodysuit, paired with high-waisted jeans or even a pair a biker shorts.

The active-wear trend is still going strong into 2020. And with this trend it’s all about the material; this includes nylons, glossy fabric, and mesh. Active wear isn’t just for the gym, we are wearing it as day-wear all the way to night wear. A glossy bomber jacket can be worn with a crop top, nylon leggings & heels at the club or can be worn with a pair of sweats and sneakers for a leisurely day.

We all love our form fitting skinny jeans, but baggy is better right now. It’s all about the comfort and relaxed look. Not only is this trend coming in a cargo pant but also in the denim field and cotton sweatpants style. When wearing a baggy pant it’s key to add some element of fit, like pairing a loose pair of cargos with a tighter cropped tank and jacket. This way you feel comfortable but not frumpy!
