Hey! Kristen here!

I started ABK’s nearly 5 years ago and we have been evolving ever since. I grew up in Iowa and moved to New York the moment I could because I always felt like I was better suited for East Coast living. I received my masters degree at a private college in a suburb of NYC (Westchester County) and met the love of my life who was born and raised in NY. After being together for three years he asked me to marry him but stipulated that he was born in NY and was going to die in NY - so I needed to be on board with that. Of course I was, and we were married two years later!

Fast forward a year into our marriage and he was approached by someone with a job opportunity in MISSOURI that was too good to pass up. He sat me down one night to ask me if I would be okay with the move. While I was pretty upset, I knew it was the right thing for us if we ever intended to start a family. So here we are nearly 11 years later with two daughters, a house, a dog and my NY in-laws living right next door half the year.

I taught for a year but when I had my first daughter decided it made more sense to stay home and that is how ABK’s started to formulate and take shape over the years. I now work part time in my husband’s very busy office, manage a house (not my strong suit), run my kids around to their various activities and work 40-60 hours a week on ABK’s when my husband is sleeping and/or working and my girls are at school and I am not sleeping. (No housekeeper, cook, Butler, etc ?‍♀️). I’m exhausted but love every minute of it!
